Microsoft releases MS Office for iPad

Will it work for you?

USPA NEWS - Microsoft announced Thursday the 27th of March of the release of the Office pack for iPad users. The package will only contain 3 apps out of the suite of software. Word, Powerpoint and Excel are the only apps available so far.
Excel, Word and Powerpoint users can jump for joy now that the iPad can use these apps. But wait, the apps are all cloud based and you will need a Office 365 account to make any edits to those files. Sure you can work on your projects at anytime or anyplace and share with others your work, but without the 365 account all you can do is view the files from your colleagues. So unless you have access to the cloud at all times, your work will be unavailable to you. How is that for productivity?
Microsoft will have available a personal version of 365 for less than $70 per year on a subscription. So far it seems that users are quite happy with the 3 free apps, even though you need to pay to get the full functionality of each. Each app runs very similar to its desktop version and is quite easy to use. The coding seems to have been redone to use iPads OS so not all functions are available due to the limitations of the iPad itself. Even with desktop systems there are tradeoffs due to memory availability, processor, etc. so this does not to seem a major obstacle for iPad users. For those who require truly mobile work environment, this seems to fit the bill.
